RESPIRATORY VIRUS DETECTIONS/ISOLATIONS Source: FluWatch Program, Public Health Agency of Canada The Respiratory Virus Detections/Isolations dataset contains respiratory virus surveillance laboratory testing information. The dataset contains the aggregate number of influenza tests and positive detections by type/subtype and the number of respiratory syncytial virus, parainfluenza, human metapneumovirus, enterovirus/rhinovirus and coronavirus tests, by epidemiological week and influenza season. These data are provided by a network of sentinel laboratories across Canada participating1 in the FluWatch Respiratory Virus Detection Surveillance System (RVDSS) and extracted from the Influenza and Respiratory Infectious Diseases Database System (IRIDDS). DATA DICTIONARY- FLUWATCH: RESPIRATORY VIRUS DETECTIONS/ISOLATIONS Variable Label Description Influenza Season and Epidemiological Week Epidemiological weeks calendar format: YYYYWW The influenza season is measured starting from week 35 of one calendar year to week 34 of the next year.
